“Good Hotel, not far from center city of Galway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2012

Nice hotel relatively rear the center of the city. There are closer hotels to the railway station and the town square but, if not traveling by train the Harbour hotel is good. Good rooms and secure hotel.

Went to the harbour hotel for a friend's hen party. Spent one night, which included dinner, b&b. Check-in was hassle free, rooms were nice. Clean and spacious.

The dinner menu was limited but it was a set menu. Food was average. Staff were friendly and helpful, apart from one supervisor who had issue with us having 1 bottle of shots (for a game for the bride to be) that was not purchased from the bar. Despite the fact we did purchase bottles of wine with dinner! Breakfast was good, plenty of options available.

Overall a nice hotel central to the city centre.

We had a very pleasant stay here at the harbor hotel.

Free wifi
Very friendly and helpful staff (they helped us out to book the cinema on Saturday evening)
Free parking
High quality restaurant for a reasonable price
Good location (10 minutes walking from the city center)
Room clean and with enough space

No 'but' in our staying ....!
I definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a nice, modern hotel within walking distance of "where it's all happening" in Galway. My personal opinion is that it does not quite reach the 4 Star mark. Some rooms are a little too small. If you are a light sleeper then make sure you don't get a room which is facing the roadway...there is a lot of continuous traffic throughout the night. Parking is very reasonable at €5 for 24 hours. Could not say enough about how pleasant and helpful the staff were. I would return, but at a more reasonable rate than €165 p.r.p.n. exlc breakfast......not good value at that price.

Room Tip: Rooms on the third floor, facing the roadway are small and noisy.

Central location at the harbour. Modern clean and well serviced rooms. Friendly staff. Good choice for a stay in Galway. I arrived late: reception said restaurant was just closing but they would ask them to wait. I ordered a club sandwich: freshly prepared excellent club and fries arrived 15minutes later. Sign of a great service attitude.

Room Tip: room 316 has harbour view
