Nice for a city break

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 30 Jul 2024
Nice hotel with standard amenities. The room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar attached are nice as well and not overpriced.

Not the best appointed if you don't have a car, but there is a bus stop nearby if you're willing to make a trek.

Would definitely stay again for a nice break from the city centre.

Really lovely hotel and very accommodating
The staff were so friendly and we're so informative about how close they were to marlay park as we were going to a concert. Taxi to marlay was about 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic of course and was reasonable enough. The rooms were spacious and very clean would definitely stay again

Room tip: It's good for if you wanna stay out of the city centre as it's about 50 Mins on bus there. Brilliant location for concerts if your going to marlay park or malahide castle

Had a fabulous week in Rochestown lodge hotel. We booked this as it was central to Bray, Dun Laoghaire and Dublin, albeit by using public transport (holy moly Dublin council please sort your roads out!!!)
Can I say Vaughn, you are an exceptional front of house, early morning greeter and nothing is too much for your attention. In fact all the staff are so friendly, efficient and eager to help. The evening menu is delicious, perfect for all our family, with great size portions. We will definitely book here again on our next visit.

Stayed one night at this hotel with a coach tour and wished we could have stayed longer.
Hotel reception was lovely and clean and check in was quick. The room was spacious with a comfortable settee and very large TV. Plenty of room to move about. Bed/pillows we're really comfortable and bedding was fresh and crisp......heaven for me!!
Again bathroom was very clean and shower was powerful enough for me.
The food was excellent. Although portions were small they were enough for us. The serving staff were very Friendly and efficient, and we didn't have a long wait between courses.
Overall, this was one of the better hotels we've stayed in for a long time; and we've stayed in a few. Would definitely stay here again.

I was booked into this hotel for a business trip and had a pleasant stay for several nights. The rooms are good quality, spacious, clean and have all the usual accessories. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast options were suitable and cooked breakfasts were prepared to a high standard and were tasty. The hotel has leisure facilities too. I made use of the pool, jacuzzi and steam room. The pool isn't very big so is worth trying to use it when it isn't likely to be busy otherwise you might end up in a queue to find a lane to swim in! Also, you need to wear a swimming cap in the pool (that isn't usually an essential item in the UK but apparently is in Ireland!) You can purchase swimming caps for €3 from the leisure centre reception. The bar is well stocked and there is a good dinner menu. It is quite expensive so worth looking for other options if you are on a budget. Most of the local restaurants and bars are a bit of a walk away (approx. 2 miles) so be prepared for a walk or booking taxis if you haven't travelled by car.

Overall, it's a decent hotel and I enjoyed my time there.

What a fab hidden gem of a hotel in Dublin! We were able to visit beautiful Dalkey and Killiney nearby as well as other great spots nearby like Dunlaoire & Monkstown. So many sea swimming locations nearby too like Seapoint & The Forty Foot. The staff were incredibly helpful and so incredibly friendly. The room seemed to have been recently renovated as everything was new - what a bathroom!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🚿Will definitely be back!

Room tip: We had a car and thankfully there was parking available at the hotel.
