“Nope, not worth the hype or the price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2012

This is a bistro style restaurant serving average food overpriced by about 20%. I ordered a lambs liver pate (€12) for starter and had to add pepper to add some flavour. That's a schoolboy error for a restaurant charging these prices. Sirloin steak €26 was flavoursome but tough and accompanied by excellent french fries. The whole rainbow trout €24 came with bones and greasy veg. The ginger cake dessert €7 was so-so. There was one standout dish, the scallops served on a cauliflower puree with chorizo and wilted spinach €12, which was amazing.

The service was pleasant and the venue has a lovely view, but the food is not up to par. Probably better to visit for lunch or pre-theatre when prices are more consistent with the fare.

“Nice Lunch Stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 March 2012

Wandered through the bookstore then up the winding staircase to open the door on a spartan but very nice restaurant. Wasn't really too crowded for a late afternoon quick lunch. Very good service and great views of the river Liffey and the Ha'penny Bridge. My husband and I both enjoyed a really good satisfying lunch of hearty thick soup and the smoked fish plate.

“Delicious!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 February 2012

A friend (who was born and raised in Dublin) told us about this restaurant and suggested that we go while we there on holiday. He said it was a little pricey but worth it. We decided to go and wow was it the best decision that we made. The food was delicious. They offered a special menu for 3 items (app, main, dessert) for only 29.95€. It was well worth the price. We left stuffed and satisfied. Best meal we had in Dublin. The service was also great and the staff were friendly and patient, as we needed to wait a bit to make room for dessert. We sat at the window which had a nice view of the river. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Dublin.
