The Irish Whiskey Museum is not really a museum but more of an experience. The guide, Aaron, put on a really great performance. The absolute BEST part was the talking television screens, jk, the best part was Aaron giving his honest opinion about different distillers. He clearly knows a lot about whiskey and enjoys sharing his knowledge with the guests. I thought I knew a lot about Irish whiskeys, but I still didn't know half of the facts presented during the tour. Of course, the best part was the tasting! It was totally approachable, non-pretentious, and also damn good whiskey! I was inspired to taste a few more after the tour and bought a couple bottles. It's not American bourbon, but still pretty good ;) OK, fine, maybe better.

We booked the Classical Tour, which is worth 18€ and lasts an hour. At the end of the tour you get to try 3 different types of Whiskeys, so even though 18€ is quite a lot, the tasting is definitely a highlight. Our tour guide Cora gave us a good insight into the history of Whiskey-making and it was easy to listen to her, as she managed to add in a good laugh now and then. I can definitely recommend to visit the Museum if you’d like to know a little more about Whiskey :)

I’m not a big fan of whisky nor do I care about the history of it. However this tour was amazing and I was pleasantly impressed that I enjoyed it so much. John our host was so charismatic, energetic, entertaining and knowledgeable that he made the experience worthwhile. Please go if you have a chance.

Best alternative to taste great whiskey from different distilleries in the area. Do recommend to take the tour with Mark B.

Mark B was an excellent guide. He was super knowledgeable and seemed passionate about Irish whiskey, and he was really friendly! He was just the right amount of friendly, so that you felt comfortable with him but not put on the spot. The blending tour itself was really worth it, a good chance to try the whiskeys then do something yourself with them.

This was a splendid tour hosted by our guide Joni. Definitely pay for the upgrade because the whiskey is worth the extra $ or so.
