Pet friendly stay, just double check with the hotel that their aware pets are coming!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Jul 2024
I recently started in the TraveLodge Rathmines for a work trip. I reserved a pet friendly room to include two small dogs and mentioned it when booking but when I arrived at the hotel, I was told no pet rooms were still available. I was told someone didn’t notate my booking saying dogs were accompanying me however I have correspondence with the hotel about the dogs when I booked, which included a message regarding the deposit cost for any potential damages as well as the pet fee per animal. (Which were both exceptionally fair)

The issue was resolved by putting us in a different room which wasn’t intended to be pet friendly however the thought of being stranded in Dublin City overnight with pets and a booking which didn’t accommodate them, when I KNOW I took the required steps to include them in our hotel selection and our reservation was not the highlight of our trip.

Thankfully everything was resolved in the end but I wouldn’t like it to happen to anyone else in the future.

There was also no parking available when we arrived (7:30pm) so we had to park in on-street parking and later move the car into the hotel underground car park when space became available. It wasn’t too much of an issue but just an unnecessary hassle after a long day of travelling.

The hotel and its features were very comfortable and we did enjoy our stay, it was the “before we got into the room” that was a bit of a headache!

After misfortunate events and getting stuck in Ireland after my Mum getting admitted to ICU in Dublin while on holidays, Alicja and Rodrigo went above and beyond to ensure I didn’t get left without accomodation and were so caring and understanding of the situation. I can’t thank them enough. So again, thank you to them!!

My friend wasn't allows to my room. I am renting this room. I can have whoever I want up to my room.

Hotel is expensive. It's not worth the money. Let's be honest if you pay £170 a night and you can't have your mate in for a cup of coffee while you drop your stuff off it's a pile of crap.

I'll write a complaint to head office

Room tip: Stay elsewhere

Just to clarify, if you have a guest that is visiting your room, we have a procedure in place to print the guest name on your registration card. In the event of an emergency we then have a list of all persons in house. Apologies if that was unclear as that is our procedure.
