Dined here often, the menu is modern and imaginative, the produce top quality. Service was always pleasant in this small venue and it's very popular so book ahead to ensure a table.

Had a voucher for a 5 course meal. All courses were delicious. Service was great. Only 2 staff on and it was busy but we were never left waiting.

I've dined in Roast a number of times in the past 6 months. Each occasion was prompted by the expiry date on a 'discount voucher'.
The menu on offer with the voucher was a 3 course set-menu, not the full A la Carte. The set menu had a good selection/choice for each course, and the only supplement was on the steak dishes.
We dined as a group of 4 and as a couple. We dined mid-week and on a Friday evening. Each visit was between 18.30-19.30. Somewhat surprisingly, we never found the restaurant to be very busy during our visits.
The staff were very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. The seating and overall ambience was casual but not of particular note. The tables were close together which might be a problem if the restaurant was busy.
We have had the pleasure of enjoying most of the set-menu at this stage. Overall, the food has been of good-to-very good quality. Our pick of the starters was the Liver Pate. The highlight of our meals have been the main course. The Lamb Shank, the Rib-Eye steak, Braised steak and the Fish & Chips were all excellent. Our dessert choice was a toss up between the Apple Pie and the Cheesecake.
The wine list was somewhat limited (a very nice Malbec was out of stock on most recent visit) but reasonably priced.
Recommended and well worth a visit. We'd hope to return even without a voucher!!

We were in Dublin leaving siblings off at a concert in the Point and decided to go and get something to eat to pass the time while we waited. We stumbled across the Roast Restaurant, looked at the menu outside and decided to give it a go. To our amazement the restaurant was completely empty which frightened us slightly given that there were quite a few people wandering about even though it was a Wednesday night. We were greeted by an extremely pleasant waitress and we had the choice of the whole restaurant to selector seat. We decided to just have a main course, I had pan seared line caught cod and my wife had the lamb shank as well as a carafe of white wine. Fingers crossed, but when the food arrived it was absolutely gorgeous. Job done and we requested the bill. Women being women my wife had estimated the overall cost but when the bill arrived she was perplexed, her calculations and the bill didn't match up. In fact we had been over charged by €8. Now I can understand this and in no way was it deliberate it was just the fact that the point of sale system had a different price than the menu. Maybe another customer would be more annoyed but the meal was so good we just pointed out the mistake and told the waitress and the chief to have a drink on us. Oh the joys of having a wife who looks after finance.
