“Make sure you have a tour or its pointless!!!!”
Reviewed 26 April 2012 via mobile

Me and the wife passed this museum on the hop on hop off bus and thought that we would go on our last day.

Walked in and noticed wasn't loads going on at th ground floor or many people in there but still went in. €5 each paid the money and went upstairs. It's only 2 rooms and we wandered around with the guide map and got bit bored and thought about leaving. Before we spoke to the guide. A lot of the pictures don't make much sense. But when the guide come over (American guy) made the room very interesting and explained the whole 2 rooms worth of pictures and things.

So overall would say it is worth it but ONLY with a tour!

It's the devotion of our volunteers and the people of Dublin that make this little museum so special. Thanks for coming to visit.

“If you only spend 29 minutes doing something touristy in Dublin DO THIS”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

What a little gem!!Centrally located on the corner of Dawson Street and Stephens Green this museum is a must for all Dubliners, culchies and out of towners alike! Two rooms JAM PACKED with historical photos, letters, trophies, and many many other knick knacks showcasing the history of Dublin from 1900s to 1990s. The volunteer tour guides are really good as you have the option of doing a guided tour if you get there on time or you can ask questions as you go. I went twice in a few weeks and both times I saw different things and heard other Dublin stories. Highly recommend this for any visitor or resident of Dublin

“Cabinet of Curiosities”
Reviewed 15 April 2012

The museum is in the cabinet of curiosities style - so there is no order to what you see. This more the thing for my partner, but I enjoyed sitting in the comfortable seating and reading from the selection of available, while he excitedly wandered around reading everything. In a lovely area of Dublin city centre, and lovely big Georgian house, just across the road from St Stephen's Green. On the tour bus route and free entry with the Dublin Pass.
