We went to Dublin for the Solheim Cup, staying at the Alexander Hotel. It is in a great location in Dublin, just a couple blocks behind Trinity College. You can walk just about anywhere from there. The hotel staff were terrific, from the front desk, to the restaurant staff, bartenders, and cleaning staff. One of my girlfriends lost her glasses while there, and the front desk staff was able to locate them on the tour bus we had taken earlier in the day. The rooms where clean and spacious, twin beds great with down comforters. Breakfast came with room, same every day which got old after a while. Overall, great place and would stay there again.

Stayed for one night and have no complaints. The reception staff were very polite and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and tidy with a safe and tea/coffee available. Probably the fastest running bath I've ever had! Lovely king-size bed (optional). Well located for exploring Dublin. Breakfast was good. About 30 mins from the airport - taxi cost about Euros 27 excluding tip.

There were pluses and minuses to the Alexander. On the plus side the hotel was in a great location. Far enough away from the noise of Temple Bar and Grafton Street that it's very quiet, but close enough that it's just a short walk to most of the major city attractions. In addition the staff was very professional and accommodating. The rooms were clean and functional, but a bit tired. And the rate I paid for my second stay was ridiculously high given it was mid-week. If I had a better rate, the minuses wouldn't have been so pronounced.
