O'Connell Bridge, formerly the Carlisle Bridge, links Dublin's north and south sides across the River Liffey at the southern end of O'Connell Street. It is a perfect square with classical railings and arches.
It is a very, very busy thoroughfare with both vehicles and pedestrians. Along the sides you have some stalls but by and large it has little to do bar stop and gaze up and down the river.
Great place for photos, especially facing West looking towards the Ha'penny Bridge and Merchants Arch.
Well worth a stop for the photos. Difficult to avoid to be honest if you are in the O'Connell Street area.
