The rooms here were super nice. They were also a good size, definitely the largest I've seen in Europe lately. They gave us a late check out and let us leave our car in the lot after we had checked out, which was really nice since it is all paid or permit parking in the area. It's those little things that make the experience there so comfortable.

Breakfast was really simple and tasty, salmon and eggs - YUM.

Try out the restaurant for lunch or dinner. They have a simple menu, but the food is great and locally soured (well, as much as it can be in the Irish climate).

The only downside is the location. It is a haul from the main attractions, restaurants, and bars in the city. Better for business travel than a leisure trip.

Dear Reviewer,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your comments online. I am delighted to see that you enjoyed your recent stay with us here at The Schoolhouse Hotel.

Delighted to see your comments regarding our menu as our Chef takes great pride is locally sourcing as much produce as possible.

We are located in leafy Ballsbridge along the canal which is about 10-15 minutes walk from Grafton Street & Trinity College. Many of our guests find this a bonus as they can enjoy some peace and tranquility at the end of a busy day in buzzing Dublin.

I do hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to The Schoolhouse in the near future.

Warmest regards,

Jenny

A quick business trip to Ireland found me staying at the Schoolhouse hotel for 3 nights. A fascinating & quirky conversion from a former school. Inkwell bar was a joy with draft Guinness & fantastic oysters at the bar as well as a great menu. Very friendly, helpful staff.
Nicely furnished rooms, very clean quiet & comfortable. I would stay again

We stayed the night of March 17 and this location was "parfect" as the Irish say - a short walk to the Temple Bar lively pub action but in a quiet residential area. The small hotel has plush, upscale decor but with the charm and quirky architecture of an old school. It's the staff, however, that makes this place great. Jennifer and Jenny at the front desk went beyond being helpful with directions and information and Jennifer even sent a follow-up email after we returned to the U.S to inform us a Global cell phone that was to be sent to the hotel had not arrived. The attached pub had a friendly bar staff and live music. Breakfast was both an individual hot meal and the continental buffet. Everything passes with flying colors!

We enjoyed our stay at Schoolhouse Hotel. The rooms were clean and quiet and the staff was helpful and it's location in Ballsbridge is VERY convenient for visiting Dublin. I'd recommend this to anyone traveling there!
