“Busy & nice place to stay”
Reviewed 7 September 2012

Was there for the Notre Dame/Navy Football game & was greeted on arrival by a bagpiper standing outside in front of the castle, with the Notre Dame & Ireland Flags waving on the flag poles - WOW! Room was ultra modern - flat panel TV, glass wall shower, very comfy beds & pillows & safe in room. Air conditioning in room, but can't keep up, but windows opened wide (no window screens in ireland). Bar was big & alot of seats at bar & many tables. Food was good in bar. Free breakfast served (buffet & hot). 15 minute walk to the dart & easy to get off (2 stops) to Pierce (Trinity Campus). It seemed to be a modern hotel hooked on to a castle structure. Lots of parties & weddings - but liked that it was busy. Special shout out to Peter the bartender, Vijay at the front desk, & Mark (concierge - Eric retired) for great customer service.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for staying with us at Clontarf Castle Hotel and thank you for you review. I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay here and I hope you enjoyed the big game too. It’s great to hear that you were impressed with our bagpiper and flags, it was amazing weekend with plenty of guests having been to the game and a post match banquet for the Notre Dame team and their associates held in the castle. I’m glad you liked the castle, your room, the bar and the food. The castle itself is a 12th century castle which was completely refurbished in 2007 so we feel it’s the perfect combination of traditional and contemporary – in comfortable surroundings for our guests pleasure. It’s also great to hear that you found the customer service to be so good as this is something we strive to achieve. I will pass on your comments to all the people you mentioned. The DART is one public transport option for our guests, there is also a bus from the end of the castle drive which travels to the city centre every 10 minutes. Thank you again for your feedback, we really appreciate it.

Kind Regards,
Mark Long

Clontarf Castle is probably the one of the best Irish wedding venues without a shadow of a doubt. My husband and I got married in August 2012 and had our reception in the hotel. We really feel the need to share our wonderful experience of the hotel and its staff. From the general manager to wedding co-ordinators to catering staff, every wish we requested was catered for competently without the need to micro-manage, a huge comfort to any bride and groom!! The venue on the day was magical, as were the wedding co-ordinators Louise-Ann and Jennifer and Raidj. Food was outstanding, as were wine options. Our guests are still talking about the hotel, the ambience, the outstanding friendliness and helpfulness of its staff, the food, the accomodation and overall "homely" atmosphere everywhere in the hotel. We cannot thank you enough Clontarf Castle and all I can do is urge any other bride and grooms to consider Clontarf and its romantic setting for their special day. You can be assured that you will be treated like King and Queen of the castle!

Room Tip: Executive rooms are well worth the upgrade price for that special touch.

Dear Guest,
Thank you so much for choosing Clontarf Castle Hotel as your wedding venue and thank you for sharing such a kind review. I’m absolutely delighted with your comments and have passed them on to all involved who were equally thrilled that you were so pleased with how everything went. All our staff members, particularly our team of wedding and event co-ordinators, work tirelessly to ensure that all weddings held here at Clontarf Castle Hotel go exactly to plan not just on the day of the wedding but throughout the entire planning process. It’s fantastic to hear that all your wedding guests were equally as impressed as you were with the venue and I’m glad everyone loved the food, the staff, the atmosphere and the castle itself. It really is a stunning venue for weddings and we’re so grateful that you would recommend us to other couples getting married. Thanks again for your lovely review, its great to hear feedback from your special day. We wish you and your new husband all the best for the future and we hope to welcome you both back to the castle again soon.

Yours Sincerely,
Mark Long

Great building 900 years old with lots of character!!
Hotel service from check in to room was outstanding, buckets of ice, extra milk delivered so quickly - thank you!! A little bit out of town, but the facilities are worth it and the gorgeous bar serves a great Guinness for a fraction of the price in the centre of town(that really surprised me).
The rooms were spotless and beautiful. We will visit again.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for staying with us and for writing such a lovely review. Its fantastic to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. I'm delighted to hear that you found the service to be outstanding. We pride ourselves on the levels of customer service demonstrated by all our staff members. I'm also glad that you liked the castle itself and the rooms, it was refurbished in 2007. We are located a couple of miles outside the city but there are excellent public transport services including a bus which leaves from the end of the castle drive every 10 minutes and travels directly into the city centre for a very reasonable fee. So we feel that our location offers our guests the best of both worlds. Thanks again for your lovely review we really appreciate it and we hope to welcome you back to the castle in the future.

Yours Sincerely,

Mark Long

My wife and I stayed at the Clontarf on Aug. 5, 2012, It is a beautiful hotel and the rooms are very spacious. The staff was absolutly wonderful. My wife forgot to get her soda in town and Eric of the staff brought one up and left it in the room. Later on I was trying to figure out how to get our picture with the Castle in the background and again Eric came out and told us where to stand and took the picture. I would recommend this to people for a great time.
