“A Great Hotel”
Reviewed 12 July 2012

We stayed at Clotarf Castle Hotel in April and we had a really lovely time. Although we both don't live too far away we decided to treat ourselves to a night out in Dublin. We stayed for one night including dinner and we stayed in an executive room. The room was very comfortable with a fabulous four poster bed it was very clean and located in a very nice part of the hotel. The meal in the Faherheit Grill was something very special with fabulous seafood and main courses to choose from. There is also an extensive wine list which I also enjoyed but there was no desert wine available by the glass whichwas a shame. I can happily recommend Clontarf Castle Hotel to anyone our stay was very enjoyable.

We booked the Clontarf Castle Hotel based on its uniqueness and proximity to the Dublin airport for our return flight home. The property is attractive and inviting, built around a castle. Our room though small was clean and comfortable. There was some late night noise from an outdoor bar area that carried up several flights to our room. We were directed to one staff member who was most helpful with a map and clear directions to the airport (about 20 minutes away). His restaurant recommendations were non-specific, just indicating streets with restaurants. The room exceeded $300 per night with taxes and booking fee which seemed rather steep, given the room size and location, and in comparison with other Dublin hotel prices. The area is a fair distance from the city center. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, but the area is not one a tourist would normally seek out for sightseeing. Thus, the price seemed a bit out of line considering the hotel's location.

This is a really lovely hotel spotlessly clean, good atmosphere and tasty food. It is a little bit out from city centre but definitely worth it. There are plenty of buses and taxis to get you around

The historic Clontarf castle hotel is about 20 minutes by cab from the Dublin airport. The castle is quite splendid and it is a short walk to the city bus stops. The rooms are spacious and our room for two children and two adults had a small table and chairs. ( in addition to 3 beds) The restaurant and bar are excellent and the breakfasts are about the best anywhere. Overall, our stay was excellent. The staff service is superior. The only downside: bicycles are part of the amenities however, the staff indicated that there are only 2 available!

Room Tip: If you cannot book through Travelocity or another travel service on line, try going to the hotel'...

Dear Brad,
Thank you for you lovely comments and feedback.
I was delighted to read that you enjoyed our breakfast and found our team to be friendly and helpful.
We only have two bikes as there is not hugh demand for them.
However since we read your feedback we have contacted a bike shop who, is prepared to rent extra bikes to us as the need arises.
Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.
Mark Long.
