“We Love The Townhouse!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2012

We have stayed at the Townhouse every year for the last 6 years as we travel through Ireland. It's always clean & tidy with hard working staff who can't do enough for you. We arrived a day early from Limerick but they found a room for us, only a standard room but again clean, warm & dry!!! It was pouring outside. It's just so convenient for everything as it's about 3 mins from O'Connell Street. They are charging 10 Euros for parking (under the Hotel) very safe & secure but have very limited space. As we were travelling by bike we thought we should have paid half this as the bike took up far less space than a car and was in fact in 'dead space'!!! :-( It won't stop us booking again as we feel happy & secure with everything else. They even served breakfast early for us as our ferry home left at 8.45am

Room Tip: It you prefer your rooms modern ask for them in the 'new' section. We have stayed in both th...

This is a budget hotel and has a hostel style feel to it being popular with young travellers, international stuent groups etc. That said this is a great place to stay whatever your age , rooms are comfortable and clean , breakfast is good and generous and the best thing about this place is the staff. The guy on reception was helpful and friendly from arrival to departure and nothing is too much trouble. The location is on the North side of the river and the pubs in this area are so much better than the over touristy temple-bar area we had a great night in the Celtic bar round the corner from the hotel which was recommended to us by the guy on reception - the live music there was wonderful. The main attractions on the south side are only ten to fifteen minutes walk away so overall this is a good location, and to top it off the bus to the airport stops outside the door and got us to the airport in 40 mins for less than three euros each - bargain !

This is our second visit to the Townhouse and we will be back

The reviews and imaged promised something nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The entire complex looks a bit tired. The rooms are ok but could use an upgrade. The bed was good. Breakfast was ok, the choice was very limited and it was a bit unorganized. The location is quite good and for what you pay it is ok. But the general note is the reviews I read throughout the internet were a bit more positive then what the place actually is.
