My boyfriend and I stayed in a private room with a double bed and a private bathroom. The bed was soft and the room was warm. We didn't encounter too much street noise at night up on the third floor. The Wi-fi signal is pretty weak outside of the common area. The hostel is secure. Everyone has to have a key card to enter. Loved being so close to everything. We had a great time and were very happy with the quality of the hostel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the third floor are quieter.

If you are looking for a clean and secure hostel at the center of Dublin , Barnacles is definitely recommended. Quite clean hostel at the center of Temple Bar, where you can find many restaurants to eat, or pubs to drink and to listen to great Irish music.

I spent the weekend here with 5 friends , it was fantastic value for money and a great location , we shared a room with three bunk beds it was a little small but had everything we needed , we had six seperate key cards , and the staff on the front desk were really helpfull and friendly

Room Tip: We asked for a room with a balcony and they changed our room to meet with our request

the hostel was clean both room and bathroom clean. All bathrooms are ensuite. Didn't really get a very social feel here, as the common room and kitchen were on separate floors, not many people hanging out in either whenever we went in them. Front desk staff was very helpful. Only complaint was the cleaning person kept leaving the windows open in the room and bathroom during the day when they would come in to clean! This led to a freezing cold room whenever we would come back! It's dublin in January, close the windows!
