Of all the places we could have ended up in Dublin, we consider ourselves lucky to have found the Aberdeen Lodge, located on Park avenue in Sandymount, amid splendid examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture. The inn itself is charming and comfortable, with an old-fashioned drawing and dining room.
But more importantly, the owner, Ann, was a warm and welcoming hostess--ready to call us cabs, recommend where to visit and eat. She went far beyond the typical amenities--she and her employees went the extra mile in every way: providing early breakfast, letting us in when we arrived before hours, and even were on call in the middle of the night.
Every part of the Inn is clean, homey and bright. The back gardens are lovely, and our hearts were warmed by the friendly dogs who greeted us when we went for a walk. We can't recommend the Aberdeen Lodge more highly. Two thumbs up!
