Weekend in Dublin

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Jul 2024via mobile
Stayed at the Clayton Burlington from Friday to Sunday in room 501.
Lovely hotel, staff were very pleasant and friendly.
Had breakfast both mornings by paying €18 each for the buffet.
Definitely got value for money on both occasions.
Only downfall was the room was obviously not cleaned properly for some time, as there was quite a lot of cobwebs around the cornicing.
All in all would stay again, but they need to keep on top of the housekeeping.

The hotel reception and foyer were very welcoming and looked and felt great, the staff were very professional and courteous, but the room was a disappointment, when trying to have a shower I tried to adjust the shower height and the whole shower head and rod came off in my hand, it took we a while to get it back in place and had to kneel down to have a shower, also we had to climb under the desk in the room to plug the fridge in and then had to plug the fridge out to use the kettle, and the TV it was just that a tv, there was no smart tv no Internet connection on the tv so no way of connecting to it so watch any of our own subscription services. It would not be a good place to stay in for a few days, 1 night would be OK but no longer, but the breakfast was very good,

My husband and I stayed on Sat 22nd of June for a concert. Overall we had a lovely stay. However I wouldn't recommend the bar food. We both had burger and chips.( beef burger and peri peri chicken burger)They were of very poor quality and seemed to be microwaved. Not good enough since they were €20 each. On the pro side our room was basic but had everything we needed. It was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The one downfall with our room was it was sooooo HOT. Uncomfortably so. We checked the AC but couldn't drop it below 19°. I would have contacted reception but luckily we had brought a small fan. Otherwise we wouldn't have slept at all! Breakfast was lovely and had everything you could ask for. Ultimately we would go back but I would definitely make sure that we had proper AC before checking in. Just a heads up for future visitors who like a cool bedroom.

Room tip: Check that your AC is working if the weather is any way warm.

Arrived late, ordered room service which was soup of the day, it arrived, I paid l, closed the door only to find that they had provided me with a knife and fork to eat it with. Too tired to do anything about it, I left it thinking it was just one of those things. Put the air con on & went to bed. Air-conditioning turned off after an hour. I got up put it back on, same thing happened. After a restless night because of the heat, l got up, put my things in the safe before planning to head off to work only the safe wouldn't work. I packed all my things and took them with me and mentioned it to reception on the way out. They said they'd sort it. Came back later that day, neither fixed. Too tired to go downstairs and do anything about it, I had a bath and had planned on an early night to make up for the lack of sleep only to find an event going on with music blaring out. I was assured it would wrap up soon at nearly midnight. I don't even know what time in the morning it ended but I know I won't be back.
