Description: Brazil is the largest and most populous country in South America. Almost as if to complement its exciting geographical contrasts, from wetlands to tropical forest to beaches, it also boasts an incredible multi-ethnic mix, which is mirrored in its cuisine. The indigenous Tupi Indians had already mastered the art of preserving meats through smoking and drying by the time the Portuguese colonised Brazil in 1533. They had developed the use and processing of Corn (in particular Corn Porridge) as well as the use of many root vegetables such as sweet potato and manioc (also known as yucca or cassava ).Not only did the Portuguese bring with them their own culinary customs (heavily influenced by 300 years of Moorish occupation) but they also imported slaves from West Africa with their cooking traditions. The use of coconut milk, peppers and dende (palm oil) are amongst the many ideas introduced by the slaves, all of which are prevalent in Brazilian cooking. Many more immigrants followed later, including Western Europeans, peoples from the Middle East and Asia, but unlike the Portuguese and African traditions, their culinary contributions were absorbed rather than evolved. As with many other large countries, Brazilian cuisine has its regional differences, although staple ingredients throughout Brazil today include beans, rice and manioc meal. To the North (includes Amazonas, Rondônia and Pará), the diet is mainly fish, root vegetables and fruit as opposed to the Southeast where the use of corn, pork and beans is traditional. Our restaurant is based in a small baroque city of Ouro Preto (from Portuguese, Black Gold) is a city in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, a former colonial mining town located in the Serra do Espinhaço mountains and designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its outstanding Baroque architecture. A different and enjoyable option for a FINE DINING Brazilian Restaurant. A cozy atmosphere for pleasant moments with friends and partners. Excellent food and proud to show our diverse culinary dishes to europeans.

“More than 5 stars!”

Like other reviewers I'm struggling to find the words to describe how amazing this place is. Small, intimate, romantic and absolutely amazing. The restaurant has only 4 tables (3 for two people and one for four), so do book ahead.
Everything was just fantastic, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. Tom, the waiter, was lovely, professional, personable and friendly. The food was perfectly sized, incredibly tasty and each dish was well paced throughout the evening. They had only the tasting menu available when we went there, so do set aside some time. We were there for about 4 hours start to finish and the time just seemed to fly by. At the end of our meal the chef came out to talk to all the diners one-to-one which was lovely.

Definitely the highlight of our trip to Dublin.

“As good as it gets”

I went to Sabor Brazil for the first time on Sunday and can only say that it will be very had to find a better restaurant anywhere. The place is intimate, service exceptional and food out of this world. The music was also pretty good. When we were leaving for home I felt like I had been on holidays.

“Super intimitate taste of Brazil!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2012

We went to Sabor for the first time on Saturday 3oth of June. Firstly its exceptionally well run, down to making your reservation, dietary requirements etc. The restaurant itself is intimate and cosy, probably accommodating no more than 10 people on an evening. Tom your host and waiter really looks after you, yourstanding your needs, comfort etc. The food is excellent, you get a full briefing on origins of the dishes, flavours and contents. Food is a little expensive but, worth it! Wine is very reasonable and good. Definetly worth a visit!

“Perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2012

Dined here for a special occasion on the 15th of June. It is difficult to explain just how romantic and special this place is,I do not think I have ever been more relaxed in a restaurant, food is divine and service is a lesson in how to take care of the customer. Will certainly be back for the next special occasion.

“Absolutely deserves the no.1 spot.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2012

Myself and my girlfriend visited here recently after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and were absolutely blown away by the food, service, and attention to detail.
I have been lucky enough to have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world and I would rank the service at Sabor Brazil to be at least on a par with them.
The restaurant is quite small and this combined with the wonderful food and impeccable service leads to an experience akin to eating with good friends rather than simply dining at a restaurant.
We will return!
