“Beautiful Old House in Dublin”
Reviewed 21 September 2011

The House and the rooms were very nice. The furnishing was antique but stylish. It was close to a bus stop to the city (15 minutes bus drive). The area was a better neighbourhood.

The breakfast was good. The owners were helpful. She recommend us a pub tour which we enjoyed. He gave us good information what to do in Dublin and ordered us a taxi to the airport.

We liked our stay in Dublin.

Adare House provides excellent food and accommodation, and is situated in an impressively elegant and relaxing part of Dublin which give easy access to the city centre. Nevertheless, the friendly, helpful and considerate attention which Catherine and Patrick Foy give their guests is arguably what makes Adare House so outstanding.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Adare Bed and Breakfast and would definitely stay there again. What I liked most about the hosts is that they are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Additionally, the breakfast room is beautiful, clean, and comfortable to have a leisurely breakfast before you start your day of touring. For some folks, the 15 minute walk into the heart of Dublin might be off-putting if there are mobility concerns or if you are pushing a stroller, but we loved it and felt that it was a great way to look at all of the beautiful colored doors of the surrounding houses. I have read the other reviews of the rooms and feel that I must add some gentle suggestions. First, most of the rooms are large and spacious and all of the rooms are very clean. However, the twin double is small and if anyone were to ask my opinion of how things could be improved in this room, I would say to put some pictures on the walls (I don't think there were any), invest in some more comfortable pillows, and brighten the room with new bedding. I don't mind small as we weren't in the room very long, but I do feel that it would be fairly easy to improve this room. Also, I wasn't sure if the extra toothbrushes in the wardrobe were for our use as they weren't wrapped, but I was a bit confused about that. I would also like to add that the toilet brush in the bathroom needs to be replaced. It's very rusty and appears dirty (probably just bad rust), so that was surprising when it was used. Let me reiterate that we really enjoyed our stay and would come back in a second, but I want to be honest and deliver praise where it is due and make some suggestions if need be. Our room did not detract from our stay one whit and I must add that I found the Irish people some of the friendliest in the world and I'm proud to be descended from these wonderful people.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the "poster bed" or "sleigh bed" rooms.

We enjoyed our stay at the AdareHouse. The location is very quiet but was not so easy to find at first. The triple room was very spacious, nice and clean, the double room rather small. We loved the wide choice of breakfast from Irish to Continental. Our hosts were extremly friendly and helpful. We could well imagine to stay there again.

It was our first time in Ireland and we really enjoyed our stay at the Adare House in Dublin. Patrick and Catherine are wonderful and friendly hosts. Our room was very comfortable and clean.

On our next time in Dublin we would definitely stay at the Adare B&B again.
