If you really want to get to the nitty gritty of what makes Dublin tick yesterday and today, and get a really unique experience, and really touch the soul of Ireland, than this is the tour to take. Damien is a fabulous tour guide. If everyone cared as much about his country as Damien did, then the world would be a lot better off. Very refreshing take.

We took the trip last week and we couldn't of asked for a better day. Our tour guide was martin and he made the day and the trip wonderful. There were 5 of us and we all loved his stories and the history he provided for us. I would highly reccomend this trip for anyone who wants to get out of Dublin for a day;

My sister and I were signed up for the Newgrange tour but unfortunately, as January is the lull of the tour season, we were the only ones signed up (this has happened three times on our trip). Day Tours Unplugged were the first and only to not only personally apologize, but also offered to take us on the Wicklow tour instead, while refunding the difference. The tour of Wicklow included an amazingly asthetic drive through the mountains, some breathtaking countryside and an indulgent stop at a small weavers town that dates back centuries ago, all while accompanied by an extremely humorous and light hearted (but not intrusively overbearing) commentary. Best of all it wasn't a giant, impersonal droning tour bus. In fact, there was only ten of us! The driver, Martin, even gave me some helpful information and tips about the Irish schools I'm applying to in Dublin for post grad!

On top of this, to compensate for our canceled tour, Damian gave us a free, improv driving tour of Dublin, completely covering all the basics of the city: what not to miss and what tourist traps to avoid. All his recommendations we did the following day and it was our best day in Dublin yet!

Coming from a big city where I see corporate greed in the tourism industry everywhere I turn, the thought of supporting a family owned small-tourist business makes me so happy. I reccomend Day Tours Unplugged when visiting Dublin with the utmost certainty!

We went on the Newgrange tour on New Year's Eve, with Damien as our guide. The day could not have been better! All of the sites we visited were wonderful, as was the countryside in general as soon as we were off the motorway (during which we enjoyed a mixture of commentary cleverly tailored to the our group, and some Irish music to get our feet tapping). An unexpected bonus was the insightful and honest information provided about modern life in Ireland (as well as tips to help us make the most of our stay) that interspersed the knowledgable overview of local history. Lunch at the very-quaint and friendly Man O War pub just perfected the day - great food (and drinks) in a lovely location with an open wood-fire. Thank you so much Damien (and Day Tours) for the fabulous day. Happy New Year!
