So, so glad we made the drive from Culdaff. The weather was clear, windy and crisp - perfect. The scenery and views are incomparable. A clear highlight of the trip. I imagine it’s not so spectacular in poor weather. So, try to pick a good day. And stop into the Seaview Tavern on the way home.

We walked here across the hills from Muckla (6 miles round trip) on a beautiful sunny day - well worth the short climb up the new road to the site, where, on most days you will find a welcome coffee kiosk

Well worth it. We went on an unseasonably cold September day, but it was still worth it for the views. We done the Hells Hole trail and than on the ground above the trail (care to be taken) and the views where stunning. You could see the rain coming towards you from the sea. I'm sure we had sleet there too.
Definetely recommend even if the weather isn't the greatest, just dress for it.

I saw Malin Head on a rainy September morning, but it was still impressive. Not as dramatic as other similar sites in Ireland, like Horn Head or Fair Head -- doesn't have the height they do -- but it's very scenic.

This is the most northerly point of Ireland and as you would expect involves a bit of a drive. We were visiting Derry and Malin Head was only about an hour drive from there, with many scenic roads in between.

We were very fortunate with the weather as it had been raining in the morning but had turned to beautiful blue skies by the time we arrived at Malin Head. The parking was fine but I can imagine it could be a bit troublesome when busy. The fact it had been raining in the morning may have saved us from this as there were still a lot of cars present.

Once out of the car and walking around the views were stunning. The ocean crashing on to the rocks lining the coast rolling up to luscious green fields dotted with farmhouses all the way to the horizon is just what we needed after being cooped up in the car (very therapeutic). There are many opportunities to go for walks with marked trails to follow or create your own. I would recommend bringing footwear you don't mind getting dirty.

Malin Head is part of the Wild Atlantic Way and you can download their app to find out more information about the history of the area. On site there is a coffee kiosk should you require a pick me up.
