We were warmly received upon arrival and offered tea and scones. Our room was clean, spacious and wifi connected. The washroom was adequate for us, but may be small for others. Not luxurious, but very comfortable. The location is excellent as it is adjacent to the university and within 10 safe minutes walk to the city center. However, it's the breakfast here at Garish which really shines. The menu was extensive and varied. Try the porridge. I had the grilled trout, which was excellent. Tomorrow I will try the kippers. There are many other b&b's nearby, but I rather doubt that they offer such outstanding fare. Listen to your stomach and stay here.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing the street. The back rooms were quiet. Try the porridge as it tastes homemade...

A visiting colleague stayed recently at this guest house and said that the welcome she received was second to none. She arrived at midnight from the UK and was greeted with a tray of scones and a very warm welcome. Well done to Garnish House for showing a true Irish welcome!

We arrived at 6.30 in the evening and we had a warm welcome accompanied by tea and cakes by the fire, we were given a map and directions. Everything was at walking distance. The breakfast was super, prepared with care and there was a huge choice. The room was big nice and clean, the bed very comfortable. The only thing I did not like was that the bathroom (very tiny but clean) had a folding door, so I felt a little exposed. However, in the overall we liked the experience at the Garnish House and we will surely come back.

I would honestly say that our stay in Garnish Guesthouse was the best experience I have had with any establishment (either Hotel or Guesthouse) anywhere in the world. The Welcome was really genuine with a welcome tea and warm scone on arrival. The room was very comfortable. Bed and bed linen immaculately clean and comfortable. Other reviews here emphasize the fabulous breakfast but nothing prepares you for the experience ! What a breakfast and all home made and healthy. The Porridge was gorgeous. We had a "Half" Irish as the Full Irish breakfast was too much to eat. I never experienced anything like the food quality and choice of breakfast in any hotel anywhere around the world. We will certainly stay again when we visit Cork. The location is perfect for UCC and the City centre. It is less than 10 minutes walk to the shops and restaurants. You can leave the car in the private carpark while you shop or eat out !! The proprietor is friendly, helpful and obviously has the secret of how a guesthouse should be run.

Room Tip: Room 5 was quiet and very comfortable.

Great place to stay!!! We stayed in the house accross the road from the main b & b and as there was a large group of us we had the house to ourselves(it was my hen weekend!) The staff were so welcoming and could not do enough for us. The breakfast is amazing!!!! Highly recommended.
