“Fantastic Lunch”
Review of Craft & Harbour - CLOSED

Craft & Harbour
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$ 7 - US$ 33
Description: Welcome to Craft & Harbour, a modern, Scottish fish and chip restaurant in Ayr. We believe in fresh, locally sourced ingredients, hand-prepared and cooked to order by our chefs. We offer a range of traditional suppers and seafood options along with our homemade sauces, sides and pickles. Our kitchen offers great lunchtime dishes and we offer delicious soups, starters and sides. As a family restaurant, we are family-friendly: our kids menu will keep the little ones well-fed and the restaurants contemporary design is open and relaxed. We do, of course, have a wonderful evening setting for the quieter, special nights: the lights go down and the candles add some sparkle.

We travelled to Ayr specifically to eat at Craft and Harbour and we were not disappointed. Fantastic, imaginative fresh fish dishes served alongside traditional fish and chip options by friendly and welcoming staff. The Cod with broad bean and chorizo stew was exceptional, as were the Cullen Skink and the Monkfish...A must visit!

First time visit with the family tonight and will def be back! lovely friendly staff, food fantastic and great prices. Most of us had the haddock and chips, light batter with fresh fish and tasty chips. Another had the rainbow trout special....delicious. Puddings were the lemon posset and crunchie cheescake - wow!! great kids menu which included a drink and ice cream, along with a visit to the sweetie jars with the waitress. overall our visit was amazing! highly recommend

Me and my wife went on a sat night in April after we read some reviews as we were staying in prestwick for the wknd.what a great concept the new owners have as they told us it just wasn't sea food dishes they served as they would add different meals to the menu every now and then.My wife had goats cheese for a starter then we both had fish and chips and a selection of the home made pickles.homemade bread was also great well done the chef and his team.front of house staff also done a great job.will be back when we visit the area again

Our first visit to this recently-opened restaurant, and definitely not our last. The focus on craft ale and fish fills a unique niche in this area, and for this alone it deserves success. We both chose the monkfish dish which was imaginatively created, beautifully presented, perfectly cooked from fresh, and reasonably priced. The service could not have been better - friendly and efficient. The `shabby chic' decor works well to create a relaxing and informal atmosphere, but this is definitely something more than a casual diner: if our experience was at all representative you can expect seriously good food here. We didn't have a starter and our desserts were perhaps not quite to the standard of the main course, but I am splitting hairs here to find an area that could perhaps be improved. Craft & Harbour should prove a real draw in a part of town not known for its restaurant scene, and may even contribute to the re-generation of this part of the town centre.
