“Spiffy Fish & Chip Restaurant with drinks licence”
Review of Craft & Harbour - CLOSED

Craft & Harbour
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$ 7 - US$ 33
Description: Welcome to Craft & Harbour, a modern, Scottish fish and chip restaurant in Ayr. We believe in fresh, locally sourced ingredients, hand-prepared and cooked to order by our chefs. We offer a range of traditional suppers and seafood options along with our homemade sauces, sides and pickles. Our kitchen offers great lunchtime dishes and we offer delicious soups, starters and sides. As a family restaurant, we are family-friendly: our kids menu will keep the little ones well-fed and the restaurants contemporary design is open and relaxed. We do, of course, have a wonderful evening setting for the quieter, special nights: the lights go down and the candles add some sparkle.

Craft and Harbour is a brand new eaterie which was once the Newton Arms pub. There were three fish options on the menu and I chose the haddock. The chips were excellent chippy-style chips and perfectly cooked. Fish batter was undercooked. Beer came courtesy of West Brewery Glasgow, one of my favourites St Mungos. Drinks and wines seemed reasonably priced. Fish and chips is £10 whether cod or haddock. Mushy peas are £1.50 and tartare sauce is 75p. Lovely bright and fresh decor, friendly staff. Location just along the road from Aldi and the Carnegie Library. Street parking and free WiFi.
