“Idyllic stay in the countryside”

Fantastic little cottage with all the mod cons situated in the tranquil woods. Owner was so helpful & friendly (even let my toddler borrow some of her grandkids toys). Will definitely be back - shame there is only two bedrooms as would love to take extended family up to stay! Totally recommend.

Note: a wee bit out of Nairn and adjoining with owners own home but didn't bother us!

“clever conversion”
Reviewed 23 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The cottage is a very old cottage, with the original thick stone walls, small windows and two fireplaces, at the opposite ends of the building, one working and one not. Do not worry there is normal central heating too.
The cottage is very pretty and very small. We were 5 and squeezed in OK (one of the kids sleeping n the floor - he liked it). We banged our heads often, even me (rather shorter than some of the others).
The furnishings are fairly new and in good condition, Caroline has great taste. There are just enough chairs, plates, cutlery etc for 6 people, but it is all good quality. The cooker and oven work well and so does the freezer, handy if you do not want to have too many shopping stops.
While getting to the cottage is challenging (single track roads, a couple of miles off plus a short stretch without tarmac), following the instructions takes you just there. I had checked on gmaps before leaving and I was surprised when I got there as most of the threes have gone. They were over 40 years old and time to cut them, in 40 years there might be others as tall. Even if isolated, it is convenient to visit Inverness, Loch Ness, Aviemore, etc.

“Treasure of a Cottage”
Reviewed 19 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We were a party of four and we felt that we had a lot of space there. The directions provided by Caroline will get you to the cottage (just follow EXACTLY what they say!).
The beds were comfortable, the large bathroom was very clean and we always had hot water. The views from the cottage are beautiful, particularly of the sunsets. Caroline is a wonderful host. Anything we needed, directions or recommendations she was very happy to help. If you catch her gardening you will have a chat that feels as if you have known her for years.
There is also a fantastic restaurant called Ozzy Ali's which is a 10 minutes drive away.
I would absolutely recommend staying here if after your day of exploring, you want to come back to a place that feels like home.
