We spent 2 nights here, and from the description and the price, we expected the very best in every way. Unfortunately, a few things spoiled this.
It started with our arrival, and they had no record of our booking. After a lot of computer tapping, we were given the key to a room which seemed to be an upgrade to what we had ordered. The room was beautiful, clean and spacious, with a triple size bed!
On our first night, we booked dinner for 6:30. At 6:30 we were turned away as they weren't ready, and told to come back in 10 minutes. At 6:40 we were still turned away. We then saw people going in at 6:45 so we followed them. The food was excellent, but after dinner you were meant to have coffee or tea in the lounge. There was no coffee or tea set up, only some cups and saucers which a member of staff started to remove, leaving only half a dozen! We ended up having tea in our room.
On our second night, dinner was on time, but there was still no tea available afterwards. Another cup of tea in our room!
On the first morning, we noticed that the hair drier didn't work. There was a card on the dressing table to notify any faults and the housekeeper would attend to it. Returning late afternoon, the card was still there and the hair drier still not working. I went to reception, and the guy gave me a replacement hair drier.
Finally, on leaving, at reception we were presented with a bar bill to be paid. We said this wasn't right as we had neither used the bar nor had any drinks with meals. The lady insisted that there was a bill and it had to be paid. I asked to see the signature as someone should have signed for it. She showed me it, and although it had our room number on it, it was neither our name nor any of our signatures. I think that customers should be asked to show their room key when ordering drinks so that the correct room gets charged.
Perhaps we were unlucky with all this, but it would make me think twice about staying here again.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us.

May i firstly take the opportunity to apologise for your stay not being as you had anticipated, nor to the standard we strive to achieve. We welcome all forms of feedback as this allows us to the opportunity to work on any area that may require improvement, and your feedback will certainly form part of our regular reviews.

We do have procedures in place whereby a guest is required to present either their charge card or room key for all purchases they wish to be charged back to their room, however it seems that on this occasion there has been an error on our part noting the room number for which i do apologise.

Your kind words regarding your room and the food having been excellent have certainly been passed on for feedback to our team, and we do hope that you will return for a future visit.

With kind regards

We spent the weekend here for a friends wedding. I appreciate that there has been upgrading done to the hotel recently but it does still look a little tired. However, the room was clean and comfortable, the food was delicious and the friendliness of the staff made it a really pleasant stay. In particular, Susan who I think was the duty manager, after working around the clock, still went out of her way to provide the best customer service - with a smile! Thanks to all the staff for a really pleasant stay.

Stayed here as we roadtripped around Scotland. I couldn’t say this was worth it. Looks very cute from the outside. The pool is a nice feature but everything else was subpar. Food wasn’t good, room/bed was brutal, the bathroom was creepy.

We had three rooms booked here and showed up with some extra family members who decided to join us. The place was booked solid yet the staff bent over backwards to find an extra room for us. The rooms were spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was incredibly delicious with such a delicious variety. A few people in our party have food allergies and the staff was quick to find us what we needed. We were so impressed and had a wonderful experience.
