We stayed at this B&B recently and found it to be exactly the sort of place we want to stay whilst in the capital of the Highlands, a traditional house which is clean with a very friendly service. Owners have a huge local knowledge and more than happy to make suggestions of tourist attractions worth visiting.

Stayed for 3 nights in a family room with or two kids. Room was clean but small, especially the bathroom and shower which had little space to store our things and the shower was so small we could barely move in it! Welcome tray with tea/coffee was nice and the owner Christine was very friendly and helpful Breakfast was delicious. Location was good, easy to find and within easy walking distance of downtown. Would definitely stay again.

The owners of the B and B were great....perfectly friendly and helpful with lots of advice about the area. The location is perfect as we were able to walk into town quite easily. Our room seemed dated however. No iron in the room, although one is available if you ask (with a rather scored ironing board). Could not fit our large rental vehicle in their parking area, so we parked on the rather busy street. Overall, a fairly decent place to stay in Inverness.

Room Tip: Bakc of the house probably quieter.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 teen-age boys for 2 days in August '11. We had a very cozy, charming, and clean room, with flat screen TV and complimentary wifi. Christine's breakfast was delicious. She was able to accomodate our "late" arrival, and helped to give us direction, information, and suggestions about the area, events, day trips, etc. She was also willing to "hold" our luggage after check-out so that we could enjoy a day trip, prior to our departure. The house is surprisingly larger on the inside than what it appears from the outside, and the 2nd floor layout looks really interesting. If I'm ever able to return, I would ask Christine to take me on a tour! My son did complain that he could not keep the shower H2O temp constant, but I had no problem with the shower. We had a "quadruple" family room which had a double bed and 2 singles. Our room wasn't gigantic (after having all of those beds), but we definitely had room to move around and also had several chairs..... it was 'just right".

The house is located just 2 (short) blocks west of the foot bridge at the Ness River bank. We were able to explore the area, and locate restaurants on foot. There are plenty of restaurants, but I would check with Christine for advise regarding whether it is advisable to make reservations for evening meals, or for lunch. There was an annual event occurring during our stay, and the majority of the restaurants were booked until after 8pm. We did find a Marriott Hotel which had openings for dining. Also, some of the smaller restaurants/cafes only accepted cash. Be aware of closing times, as some of the establishments closed early.

Our arrival was by train. (The bus station is almost next-door to the train station.) There are plenty of taxis for hire outside of the train and bus stations. Although we took a taxi to Malvern House, we realized that we could easily have walked, due to the foot bridge (we only had 1 piece of luggage each and all of our luggage was "rolling"). I had no clue that this bridge existed prior to our arrival, as it was not identified as such on the maps I was using, but if you follow Greig St. toward the river, you will see it.

We would definitely consider staying here again if we returned to Inverness. Thanks Christine and Reinold.
