Warm welcome and splendid food on a wet, cold night in Glasgow - Fanny Trollope's hit the spot! Special mentions for the scallops and soup starters, the duck and vegetarian - stuffed aubergine - mains and the Joker IPA, as well as for the swift, attentive and witty service. This restaurant is one of Glasgow's very finest.

Booked Fanny Trollopes for a nice leisurely lunch before starting our Christmas shopping weekend in Glasgow. Leisurely was the tone, giving us plenty of time to savour the fantastic food and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
Duck Rillet starter followed by Rose Harissa marinated Lamb was simply delicious. My wife had chicken which she loved.
Definitely going back.

We booked an early table before a concert in the Hydro, an easy 15 minute walk which means this restaurant is ideally situated .
The menu and wine list were prompt, and the wine ditto.
The meal was absolutely delicious, we both had the scallop starter , a very generous portion of four scallops on a carrot purée , very good but the corn, feta, avocado and herb salsa was simply fantastic.
We both had mains from the special menu,
My wife had sea bass served with crispy calamari and beurre blanc sauce ,l had roast duck breast served with carrot purée, black pudding and green beans and creamy mashed potatoes, getting pretty full we shared a sweet of lemon posset with raspberry compote.
The waitresses were very friendly and efficient, I can honestly say that it was the best meal I have ever had in Glasgow, we will return.

I was in Glasgow for a conference and didn’t fancy eating in my hotel so Googled restaurants nearby and found Fanny Trollopes.
I booked a table, and glad I did, as it’s only a small restaurant and was pretty busy when I got there.
The place had a lovely warm friendly atmosphere, quite loud with lots of animated conversations and laughter - a great vibe.
The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. I had the fish of the day, sea bass, but there was plenty on the menu I could have gone for.
All in all a lovely meal in a lovely, lively place. If I’m ever in Glasgow again I’d definitely go back.

Food was good enough but felt that it did not live up to expectations (5 star on TA). Modern British cuisine.

It is also located a bit out of the way - but of a walk from city centre

Was surprised that wasn’t as busy as it probably deserved to be.

All said and done a good restaurant.

Thank you for your review.
We are located in the Finnieston area near the west end, not the City Centre.
