Saturday Lunch -
3 soft drinks £1.85 each
Mozzarella Sticks - 2 x bought in breaded sticks - rubbery and a sauce rather too spicy for italian cusine £2.45
Prawn Cocktail - good portion of small prawns on salad base, tasty enough sauce £2.45
Chicken Wings - very little meat, too hot to hold - very little sauce £2.45
Lasagne - good size portion, but rather on the dry side and lacking flavour £5.95
Carbonara - decent portion, dry pasta I suspect but sauce was fine if a bit salty £5.95
Spag Bol - decent portion, but the sauce needed cooked much longer to tenderise the meat - was more like mums, cooked n served mince - £5.95
Fries - chunky frozen chips - huge bowl - but only half filled - £2.50

Seemed nice on arrival, and probably fine for a snack but the kitchen could do much better

Arrived at 5pm on a pre-theatre booking. First in and last served. Placed at the table next to the door where everytime customers came in, we were greeted to a cold draught. Service was slow and poor. We were going to the nearby SECC for a 7pm show and just made it. Food was average. Won't be going back.

I visited this restaurant this evening, and left with a very bad taste in my mouth. The service was abominable to say the least. We were sat by the door, so every time it opened we froze!!! Didn't really feel this was fair as we had booked, and people who walked in after us seemed to get better seats, as well as served faster. It took them 20 minutes and three requests for a glass of water ( well actually two but we only received one). It took them 2 whole hours to serve us two courses, being as we had tickets to the panto we had to leave without being able to have a dessert which they charged us for anyway on their pre theatre menu. Which considering it was pre theatre, maybe they should try to deliver a bit faster. We will not be going back. My sister had queried the bill and the owner and one of the waiters were extremely rude. And to be perfectly honest abusive in tone as well as language. While my sister was talking another table had quibbled as they hadn't been offered the pre theatre and they had entered the restaurant just after us, and they were waved away as if disregarded. In short, I would avoid this restaurant.

It was a lovely steak for £16.95 but came with very little veg and some of our party got two bits of roast potatoes, not whole ones. We ordered extra chips at £2.50 a portion and bread cost £3.80 for 8 half slices, I had to ask for butter. We did mention this but were told as long as we enjoyed it, it didn't matter.

Went to Villa Toscana in the afternoon on a Saturday - it was pretty quiet but there were a few people in. I have been a few times to this restaurant, its nice and relaxing and the staff are really nice. I had the pate to start which was lovely then I fancied the carbonara but prefer it with penne pasta and not spaghetti - this was no problem to them and it was gorgeous! Finished off with chocolate fudge cake which was heated and had a lovely chocolate sauce with cream (normally comes with ice cream but I wanted cream - again - no problem).
This is a really nice restaurant, quite small, but has a lovely atmosphere, very relaxing and I would recommend it.
