“NEW FRESH AND WORTH A VISIT”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2012

Hi we visited Banana Leaf on Cambridge St twice in two weeks. We love the Malaysian and Chinese mix of food. The dishes are served on a large banana leaf, which adds that little bit of authenticity - a nice touch! The head waiter is attentive and welcoming. The food isresonably priced and certainly worth a visit. One draw back is the massive windows and busy street, people looking in whilst your eating - only a minor comment. Great location, great food a welcome addition to the Glasgow food scene. 8/10

“As authentic as you can find outside of southern India.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

Basic cafe style, no frills with fantastic (hot) dishes in the Southern Indian style. Opened by Indians for Indians so if you want to try more authentic dishes then this is the place.
seafood and fish selection is the widest I've seen, be prepared to use your hands.
No alcohol served so try a Lassi (yoghurt) drink to keep your mouth cool.
It used to be a "stand up and eat" place until they expanded next door. Food is served quite quickly

“Albert Drive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2012

We found the food to be unusual and very good. Service was excellent - the restaurant was not very busy as we went midweek. Decor was a bit bland but the food made up for it. Fully intend to go back again but don't ask me what I'm going to eat as everything was new ... which is a good thing. If you go, ask the waiter what he/she recommends - it worked for us!
Try a Dosa, which is a bit like a savoury pancake except the pancake is made from gound rice and lentils.
Doesn't serve alcohol and I'm not sure if they allow you to bring your own.
