We rented the Hawkswood house for a week with our golfing group. The service from pickup in Edinburgh, to the shuttling of all of us and our golf clubs everyday, was awesome. The weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed being able to practice out of the bunkers in the back yard. We even got to christen the new driving range that just opened the day we left. The countryside and views from the house were so beautiful! The family made our stay so comfortable. Wish it were longer!
We booked 3 nights to celebrate a 60th birthday party with friends and family joining us each day. Beautifully appointed house with loads of amenities, the whole place so well thought out. The owners could not have been friendlier or more helpful and our celebrations could not have been bettered.
To be thoroughly recommended.
Everything about Hawkswood is to the highest standard; from the room to keep the golf clubs, kitchen, huge conservatory, sitting rooms, bedrooms; then outside to the best hot tub ever (even trays to put your beer/wine on); super balcony to view the countryside and then to the short-game area; we all had great fun on that, especially the non-golfers! Top-of-range Merc mini-buses to help with trips in and around St Andrews. Absolutely Fabulous. All 10 in the party want to return!
Wow, what can I say, 9 lasses from Edinburgh came to stay at the Hawkswood House and WOW. This was our 4th year of girlie weekends away and it was amazing. This property was by far our firm favourite. The house was spotless, it catered for your every need and had plenty fall out spaces if you needed quiet time. Have to mention how comfortable the beds were, wow, definitely no expense spared at this property. 3 nights of pure bliss and what can I say about the Hydro Spa (and not hot tub!), the best ever. Definitely a place to go back to time and time again. And who could forget the "Banter Bus", totally made our weekend. Thanks again and maybe one day we girlies will be back :-)
Last year our group of 9 stayed at Hawkswood House. This year we were in the adjoining "Roundel". An equally stunning let, The Roundel has every amenity you could wish for. If I have to make any criticism (and this is constructive!), we spent a lot of time on our first evening trying to figure out how to get the Raeburn in the kitchen to operate. We eventually gave up. On mentioning it to the owners the next day, we were told that it was broken and that sorry, they forgot to tell us. I would expect this not to happen with a 5* rated establishment. In no way did this distract from a wonderful stay. It is a beautiful property in beautiful surroundings and perfect for large family parties or groups of friends.
