“Mum's Special Birthday Family Celebration Weekend”

On first impressions, everything seemed to be adequate but there were a few issues regards our parents especially my Mum who is a bit infirm. Having a bedroom downstairs with an ensuite was great but the shower required a rubber mat as it was a slip hazard. The upstairs lounge was a lovely room but again not suitable access for anyone with an infirmity.

Every need was catered for within the house itself with a well equipped kitchen. Debbie and Gill were first class with handling any requests I.e. shortage of towels/dish towels. Noticeable cobwebs through the the house, need attention.

The location was more remote than we expected, unable to go for a walk outside the house as it is on a country road where there were no pavements. St Andrews was a 10 minute drive away through country roads so a car is a necessity for exploring this area.

Great location for a group of people on a golfing break.

Management Response

Thank you your review from which we appreciate your feedback. I am pleased to advise that there is now a hand rail in the downstairs en-suite shower as well as a rubber mat. We have also put in a bannister on the stairs to the upstairs living area. Being in the country unfortunately we are prone to some cobwebs but endeavour to see to these after each departure and will definitely keep an eye on these in the future. Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention as future guests will now benefit from these changes.

“Gorgeous stay in the hills near St. Andrews”

What a fantastic place to stay so close to St. Andrews. This beautifully modern farmhouse was the perfect place for reunion of friends and we thoroughly enjoyed catching up in the cosy living area.

The house is clean, modern and spacious and can sleep 10 people comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need to cater for yourself but if you fancy a meal out, there are plenty of places to go in St. Andrews just a short drive away.

I would recommend a stay here to anyone and can't wait to return!

“Fantastic stay at St Andrews Field”

St Andrews Field was a wonderful place for a getaway with friends. There is a big cosy living room, with tartan sofas, a working fireplace, board games, a huge TV perfect for watching films, and a telescope for even better views off into the rolling hills. The kitchen is very smart and has everything you might need, it was a joy to cook and mix cocktails in. The dining room has a long, stylish table and chairs with plenty of room to seat 10, while the bathrooms were spotless with great facilities. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and lots of natural light. The hallways and general spaces of the house are surprisingly large and decked out with swish wooden floors.

The location was ideal - it feels remote and rural, set in wonderful countryside, but is a short drive from St Andrews. St Andrews itself is obviously a huge draw for golfers, but there is lots more to see, places to eat and drink, supermarkets for supplies and a long beach with very fine sand. The nearby Peat Inn has a Michelin Star. There are plenty of pretty coastal towns in the area, we had two great days visiting Crail and Elie. This was a really great place to stay!!
