Owner description: A golfing Mecca for the most accomplished golfer to the enthusiastic amateur, a trip to St Andrews Links is one which realises the ultimate dream for golfers worldwide. From the iconic Swilcan Bridge on the Old Course to Tom Morris’s masterful architecture on the New Course, St Andrews Links has developed over 600 years to become one of the most famous locations in golf. Perhaps most fascinating however, is the fact that all seven courses at St Andrews Links are public and open to everyone. St Andrews Links is the largest public golfing complex in Europe. From the terrifying sight of Hell Bunker on the Old Course to the gentle slopes of the Balgove, the Home of Golf has become the ultimate golfing destination for all ages and abilities. The three championship courses; the Old Course, New Course and Jubilee Course run parallel to each other along the famous St Andrews Links West Sands of St Andrews. Nestled on the opposite side of the Links are the Eden, Strathtyrum and the only nine hole course, the Balgove. A five minute drive from town is the seventh course, the award winning Castle Course which offers dramatic views over St Andrews from its spectacular cliff top location. Away from the course, explore the fantastic facilities St Andrews Links has to offer. Learn the game where it was first played at the St Andrews Links Golf Academy. The Academy offers first-class tuition from PGA-Qualified St Andrews Links professionals and is home the only Callaway Performance Centre (custom-fit) in Scotland. The driving range has over 60 bays, including 22 indoors, and a landing zone which is over 400 yards long. All mats are air cushioned, and five bays include the Power Tee automated system. There is short game area, which includes a replica of Road Bunker, and a putting green, once the second on the Eden Course and regarded as one of the finest in St Andrews. Shop our fantastic range of official merchandise from our five retail stores, the Old Course Shop, the 18th Green Shop, the Links Clubhouse Shop, the Castle Course shop and the oldest golf shop in the world – Tom Morris. Finally relax in the Swilcan Restaurant in the Links Clubhouse, The Eden Clubhouse or the Castle Course Clubhouse with a wee dram as you reflect on your visit to the Home of Golf.

“What an experience!!!!”
Reviewed 29 April 2012

The Old Course at St Andrews has always been on my "to do" list and this year, to celebrate my 50th birthday, I finally got the opportunity and what an experience!!!!

As well as The Old Course we played The Castle Course and both in their own way were special. One of my golf partners described the experience on The Old Course the best when he said that he felt that ghosts of the past were looking down on him and we all knew exactly what he meant. Not discounting the tee shot down the first, which brings its own special set of nerves, I was shaking like a leaf for the first 3 or 4 holes as I finally came to terms with where I was and what I was doing. I would agree with the comments of others in that hiring a caddy adds to the whole experience as you try to navigate your way between the many bunkers positioned to catch either the uninformed or wayward.

If this is something that you have been planning to do but just put off I woulod certainly say just do it. It will be something you will never forget and will remember for the rest of your life.

Enjoy. Julian Brown

“The Old Course is special”
Reviewed 24 April 2012

A dream came through when we played the Old Course. It really is something special. The course is fantastic with hidden bunkers all the way. Bring a caddie if it is your first round there - it is worth it! The mix of history, course layout, nice weather and excitement made this the round of my life.

“The home of golf!!!”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

Visited the home of golf in the first week of april. On the day we booked the Old Course there where 50 mph winds which maked the golf courses hard to play, but you don't go to Scotland for the weather. I have to say Hole 1, 16, 17 and 18 do the job, it's the best i've ever played. You can really feel the history behind it!!! I's not the most difficult course but you have to play this one, it's worth every penny!!! If you want to try something more difficult; go and play the Carnoustie Links.

“Castle Course was wonderful”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

Despite being a little wet underfoot the Castle Course was a great experience. Even 5 holes of rain could not dampen the mood. However I must single out all the staff up at the clubhouse, their service form arrival to departure was second to none and all our party commented on this.
