“Cosy, attractive and very central”
Reviewed 31 December 2015 for a stay in December 2015

This is a really nice one bed flat right in the middle of Edinburgh. We were there in winter and although the weather was pretty mild, it's obvious that this is a very cosy place even during cold weather. There are many (should I say all the) attractions and shops within a short walk, and there are many restaurants and bars literally within a few feet of the front door. Considering all of that it's relatively quiet though there is a little noise now and again at night, but not enough to bother us. The flat is well appointed with modern fittings in the bathroom and kitchen and good wifi etc. and we thought it was good value. It's up a couple of flights of stairs which again is no issue for anyone who's fit but might be a consideration for someone older.

Minor downsides, which are really more comments for the host to fix, are that the 'welcome pack' wasn't all there i.e. no milk, no Irn Bru(!) or shortbread(!). Also the tv instructions weren't in the document folder, and the dishwasher still had dirty dishes/cutlery etc. in it and there didn't seem to be any soap tablets provided to run it (we just left it shut and used the clean stuff!).

We would definitely stay again - and probably will.

Hi, many thanks for your kind review. I'm very happy you enjoyed your stay. I've recently just stayed in Thistle Street myself attempting to Iron out as many issues as I could. Ill look into the TV instructions for the next guest. Also on the subject of the welcome pack I should have mentioned sometimes it can vary depending on what Dayna thinks is appropriate. Id hoped to have solved the issue of the Dishwasher / tablets and Milk seems however still needs to be resolved - apologies for this. The Bedroom and Bathroom will be re-painted in January aswell as adding few other bits and bobs to make a short stay as welcoming as possible. Many thanks, Graeme.

Thanks Mike for your review, Thistle Street can be a one of those Streets in Edinburgh which is so small in tends to be forgotten. It really is very centrally located with access to restaurants, shops and bars on the doorstep.

“Excellent place to stay”
Reviewed 25 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We come to Edinburgh a few times a year as we used to live here. This little apartment is perfectly located, particularly if you are travelling by train and want to enjoy all the sites and delights of Edinburgh on foot.
It is well appointed, spotlessly clean and warm and cozy. The owner is very thoughtful and helpful. Lots of information provided beforehand which would be very useful to first time visitors. Toiletries, tea and coffee and even dressing gowns and a hairdryer provided so no need to bring loads of stuff. We had a lovely time made really easy by being in such a fabulous spot. Only risk is spending too much money in the designer shops nearby!

Thanks so much for your kind review. Edinburgh and Thistle Street in particular is a beautiful place to stay. I recently returned to Scotland in December and stayed for 8 days. Time spent cleaning and buying lots of things for the apartment I hope worthwhile. A new TV Stand, Pizza tray, Ice boxes, 3 Diffuser's, mattress topper for the Sofa Bed, Bread Bin, Bread Knife and bathroom accessories. Will be re-painting the Bedroom and Bathroom in January. Really has to be a work in progress every year to maintain the apartment to as high a standard as possible. Kind Regards, Graeme.

Thanks so much for your review, Thistle Street was built around 1780, so no unfortunately there are no lifts in the apartment stairwell or in similar apartments in Edinburgh. It is approx 33 steps to the apartment door on the stair well there are hand rails to aid walking the stairs.

There was an extensive welcome pack sent to aid arrival to the apartment. I do apologise if this seemed confusing. The Calendar which is updated regularly is a reference point for viewers providing availability.

Viewers can also note on my previous review as to the respect I give each and every customer during correspondence.

Best Regards
Graeme

“Excellent Apartment in Fantastic Location”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I rented this apartment for my Son and his Girlfriend, they said the apartment was first class in respect of everything - location, amenities, cleanliness, meet & greet and were delighted that they could even leave their luggage which allowed them maximum time in Edinburgh.

The owner Graeme could not have been more helpful, responding promptly to all my emails prior to arrival and following their stay.

Would highly recommend.

Thank you Joyce for your excellent review, It’s reassuring that I’m on the right path as the property is new to the short term rental market. I always like to keep things simple that way everyone can be free of any concerns, leaving luggage early at the apartment really should be taken for granted. All the best, hope to see you again in Edinburgh in the future.
