Staying here is always a pleasure. All the staff very friendly, clean rooms provided of tea, coffee and biscuits, Wi-Fi all the time and great breakfast. Is also in a really nice location, amazing view from the rooms and very handy to arrive to the centre of the city in 20 minutes and the bus stop just in front of the hotel. I would recommend it to everyone because staying here is a very good experience and Martin always very helpful and interested in his customers' happiness and satisfaction.

I would never normally take time to write a review but having had the pleasure of staying at this amazing Guest House I just had to share. I couldnt fault a thing! So luxurious and professional and above all Martin was so friendly and welcoming and couldnt do enough to help....it felt like going to stay with best friends or family and I will definitely go back there any time I am in Edinburgh. The Garfield is in a great location with wonderful views towards city centre, castle, etc it is a lovely 30 min or so walk into the centre or a bus stops right outside the door if you prefer! Also ample safe free parking right opposite.
I cannot recommend this Guest House enough and thank Martin and his team very much for the excellent job they do, keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing you again soon,
Much thanks
Alison

Great stay. Great location. Great breakfast. Great bed. Shower could be better, but overall great. Friendly staff too. Clean rooms also. WiFi in the rooms too is a great bonus too. Only stayed for one night. Will stay for longer next time.

Working in the hotel trade we have not been off work over the Hogmanay period for many years so this was a very last minute decision to try and stay In Edinburgh. We found this very reasonable priced guest house and straight away made a booking. Martin made contact with us to arrange entry to the guest house as he may not be there for our arrival. Our room was on the second floor and was was quite small but very adequate for our short stay, The room was very clean and well supplied with tea. coffee bicuits, towels etc. and had an ezxellent view of Edinburgh Castle. There was no en-suite so we had a shared shower room next to our room, again spotlessly clean and excellent shower. In the morning the breakfsat was plentiful. well cooked and presented well. Martin was an excellent host engaging in conversation with all the guests and seemed to take a genuine interest in there satisfaction. Although not located in the town centre the guest house is on the bus route with stops right out side but is also just a 10 minute taxi journey into town, We had an ejoyable stay here and will definatley reurn.

Just got back from the Garfield after another two night stay. Martin was brilliant as usual. We fetched our daughter, husband and three month old grand daughter. Martin had put us in a double room and the others in an enormous family room. He said that they would want a bit more space to move about with the little one. The room had a double, single, bunk beds and a settee. He had thought ahead and told them that if they need anything in the kitchen to go down and help themselves. The rooms were lovely and clean. Breakfast was lovely and well cooked. We were asked how we wanted things done and nothing sempt too much trouble for martin and his staff. We used this stay to see friends and martin kept us informed if he heard anything about the areas we were visiting, weather wise, road conditions etc. It was our second visit and was as perfect as our first one. Standards were still first class. Can't wait for the next one.Last note. Congratulations on your new baby Martin.

Room Tip: Front rooms offer a great view of the castle.
