So I’ve stayed in Edinburgh hundreds of times and this is genuinely the worst place I’ve been.
It’s filthy. Run down. Stains on the mattress. Dust and un-vacuumed floors.
Stinks of damp. Had to wedge open widow (as it wouldn’t stay open and snapped shut) with a bottle of shower gel - really ??!?
The bathroom is a disgrace and you’d need a shower after being in there. Marks all over. I wish I could post some pictures.
I left as there was zero chance of sleeping in that place.
Bookings.com keep saying it’s 8/10?????
Management / owners - you are a disgrace and it’s 10pm and I’ve had to find an alternative hotel.
It’s a pity to pay for a great apartment and have to sleep with dirty pillows and sheets. The extra problem is that the towels were also dirty with marks on them.Being a low cost aparthotel doesn’t give you the right to be unprofessional.
Although the neighborhood was great!
A beautiful street, however do be aware that this is very low budget accommodation. I'm quite pragmatic and looked at all the reviews and thought that those who commented that this was 'superb' would thus balance those negative comments, so I was expecting an 'OK' type of accommodation..sadly I would not have booked this had I had the opportunity to see the room before hand, even at the reduced price of £41 for two, being the price I paid. Clearly someone has spent time in perfecting the individual style and decor, this is let down by the pervasive smell of damp, tired and worn areas, poor quality thin un ironed bedding, giving it an overall sub budget feel. Reminds somewhat of student accommodation. On the positives tea and coffee in a full working kitchen is a nice touch and the furniture in the lounge is of nice quality.
The room was FILTHY. Disgusting!!! Pillow cases and sheets had stains on them and were not changed. There was DUST everywhere. Stains and marks all over the walls in the room and bathroom. The room was freezing cold because the heating didn't work properly.
I didn't want to sleep in the room, let alone touch anything. It needs to be cleaned from top to bottom, repainted and heating fixed.
We loved our two-night stay at this gem of a place, we choose to stay here as it looked comfortable before our long 24hour trip back to Australia. The bed was the biggest we'd experienced in our three weeks stay in the UK, and the most comfortable. We were placed in the Morroco room and found it to be beautifully decorated, although if you have trypophobia the wall might freak you out a bit. The bathroom is small, but was clean and all we needed for a two-night stay. Great wifi and great location to all the sight of Edinburgh, highly recommend staying.
