Well, first of all, location is just spot on. Basically within a stones throw of everything you want: Royal Mile, train station, and Princess Street.
Apart from that, the rooms are small, but quite nice and clean. Only thing I really noticed was a crack in the bathroom ceiling.
Service was perfectly fine, so no complaints there either.
Breakfast was continental breakfast, and frankly, I cannot recommend it, it's so much easier to go out and find better and possibly cheaper alternatives nearby.
But then again, it does the job, and there's plenty of it.
Only real complaint was the elevator to the lobby, it was slow, stopped at random floors, and you never knew if it was going up or down, or would even deposit you on the right floor!
Another small complaint is the menu for the bar, more specifically the single malt whiskies. Found two errors in them, and frankly that's just embarrassing considering this is Scotland. They really should get a copy-editor in and check all their menus.
Overall though, I will happily recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a simple, cheap, clean, and quite nice room to stay in.More
