“Interesting and well cared for with everything a person might require”
Reviewed 23 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

a warm welcome greeted us as we were met by the owner who lived next door. All the essentials (tea, coffee etc were there for us to use). scattered around the house were many articles and ornaments with pictures on all the walls. There was plenty of space for us to have a WELCOME HOLIDY.

Accommodation was very spacious and very well equipped. We were a family group of 6 adults and had plenty space. Lovely garden with sitting area. Bus stop 5 minute walk away to travel to Edinburgh approx 20 minutes ride. Retail park on doorstep and Asda 5minute drive away.

Thank you for your kind words, much appreciated. Thank you too for your response online. They do help - a number of people have recently refered to them being part of why they opted for our cottage choice as a result of having read them, glad we're living up to some of the great comments of past customers - thank you all past and present.

“Comfy cottage, helpful owners.”
Reviewed 21 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We had a good stay in the cottage and appreciated the very thoughtful provision of food and extensive amount of equipment. To help others be prepared I need to mention there is no wifi (perhaps take this off the description?)
and there is quite a bit of traffic noise. Otherwise the local bus service is close by and frequent making it a good base for visiting edinburgh. Another bonus are the nearby cycle paths which can take you safely to Arthur's seat and beyond. They plan to make the shed lockable which wd be v handy.

Glad you had a good time at the cottage folks. WIFI has been brought to BT attention a while ago but it is something to do with construction of the house (walls too thick for signal to penetrate) Not pleased with our treatment from BT still trying to get it sorted out. Point about the hut/wooden garage taken though - on to it.

Only has come to light since we started letting the cottage otherwise there has been no problems about security for years but will take this on board. Edinburgh has a fair few cycleways to offer visitors and Edinburggers. Council quite keen to encourage this interest will update more on this issue.

Best wishes,
Margaret.

“Country cottage atmosphere in the city”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We booked this property as a base when attending our son's wedding in Musselburgh. The first impression I had of this cottage was how spacious it was. There were five in our party and there was ample space for us all. The fenced garden at the back was a lovely bonus.

The property was well equipped and had country cottage furnishings throughout. The fridge and cupboards were stocked with basic food which meant we didn't need to go to the shops immediately to get milk etc. However, when we needed to get supplies there were lots of shops within walking distance. The owner was extremely helpful and I would have no hesitation in booking this property again.

“Long weekend break”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Margaret was very helpful during the booking process and answered all my queries.

Upon arrival I was met by Margaret. She showed me around the property to ensure that I knew where everything was. It is a very spacious property with ample space for 6 guests, you will never be short of somewhere to sit down. There are two twin bedrooms upstairs and a double room downstairs. The toilet and shower room are separate, which is useful when there are a few people staying.

The location of the property is fantastic. There is a supermarket near by for shopping, as well as a shopping complex to the rear. Public transport to the city centre via bus is easy and only takes around 30 mins, with frequent service. Therefore perfect for days out. It is also not far from the costal area for sunny days.

I would definitely recommend this place to others. Felt very much at home and had a lovely comfortable stay.
