Great location, very close to the city center but in a calm, quiet neighborhood with a bus stop less than a block away. The B&B was spotless and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, 5 stars. They offered a variety of juices, yogurt, pastries, and delicious brown bread with butter and jams. The menu offered classic full Scottish breakfast, real porridge, and a variety of other options. It was "homecooking" but the kind one would get at a professional chef's home.
The room was warm and inviting, and included a great view of the surrounding hills and neighborhood rooftops. I saw my first Scottish rainbow. Great little bathroom with an extremely effective towel warmer and an ample supply of towels. Unexpected but gracious touches included a decanter of whiskey and box of chocolates as well as the standard tea kettle. The binder left in the room provided great information on how to get around Edinburgh. It also contained personal recommendations from the hosts with directions on how to get around and where to find things. Would definitely recommend to solo travelers or couples.More
