We only had an hour and it wasn't enough!
The Galloway Hoard was fascinating both the artefacts themselves and the archeological detective skills involved. I loved that you could photo the QR codes and examine the jewellery later in great detail.
There was so much variety too: ivory carvings, Egyptian mummies, a canoe. My son really liked the Formula 1 cars. Would happily go again

Firstly we only booked tickets for this to kill a little time inbetween other tours. However it was my little boys favourite part of the entire trip and absolutely free!
We spent about 2 hours there (could of been longer) so much to see and look at. Even our teenagers enjoyed looking around. Well worth a visit if your going to Edinburgh

This is a beautiful building which is worth a visit for that alone. The exhibits are displayed really well and something for everyone. The Galloway haul exhibit currently on is interesting

Great museum, lots of different stuff to see and learn. And a lovely building too. Pretty central so easy to combine with other places to visit.
