I stayed at The Rutland Hotel this weekend with a group of 22 of us to celebrate my sister getting married (hen event) . I do not normally write reviews on places but I feel that on this occasion I just had to as the experience was nothing short of amazing !!
The best thing about this hotel has to be the staff and the service you get. Everyone is so friendly and nothing that we asked for was too much trouble. Even though we were a big hen group the staff were completely un-phased by it and treated us really well.
The rooms were all clean, beautifully decorated and all had lovely individual touches including muffins, books, chocolates and ghd's etc.in the rooms.
As we pretty much had every room for our group, I got to see almost every room in the hotel. Each room was different in terms of decoration, all beautifully done but all cleverly stuck to a central elegant theme which I loved.
The location was perfect if you want to be near the city centre as all amenities (shops, castle and other attractions are within walking distance from the hotel which was great as we did not have to rely on taxis to get about.
The restaurant, Khyloe, which we ate in on the first night, has a great menu and the food was fantastic, the steak has to be eaten to be believed it was great ! The only downside was possibly the breakfast as the sausage that I had was quite underdone but that was an absolutely minor point and I am sure if I had mentioned it they would have cooked another one for me ......as that is what their service is like.
We also attended a Cocktail Making masterclass which was run by the hotel in 'The One Below' , Anthony who ran this (apologies if got his name wrong) was brilliant he has won awards and you could definitely tell as he and his team all appeared very experienced and got us all making cocktails by the end of the night, not as well as he did but we tried at least !! :-)
Finally again I come back to the service at the hotel which was the most unforgettable part of our stay. If you want to stay in a hotel which is clean, local attractions on your doorstep, where the food is amazing but at really reasonable prices (20% off when staying at the hotel), where the staff are welcoming and nothing that you ask for is too much trouble then this is the place for you.
The entire party, including the 'bride to be' came back absolutely raving about the place and the service and how they would definitely go back again. I have stayed in a number of hotels around the world from 3 - 5star and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel all around as one of the best if not the best that I have stayed in and I think that the staff service is the main contributing factor to this.
Thanks to everyone at the Rutland for making my sister's hen event an absolutely unforgettable experience !
