This is a great little place right in the centre of Edinburgh. Went there a couple of weeks ago with friends and had a great lunch at a very reasonable price. Food was great and best of all the wine comes in litre bottles!!! It is quite small so probably best booking especially at the weekend.

We had lunch here while xmas shopping and failing to find anywhere else to eat (why we could get in here I cannot fathom) the service is bright, friendly, fast and Italian. the lunch menu is just astounding value with no change in portion size.

The inside is small but comfortable and their seems to be loads of room around the tables.

I will be going back to try the full menu and I will report back.

Two of us visited on a busy Saturday lunchtime without a booking and told if we could wait 10 mins there would be a table free. So we waited.

Sure enough our table became available and whilst the seating location wasn't the best (squeezed in - right at the back next to the emergency exit) it was warm and quieter than the main restaurant area.

We were given a set lunchtime menu of £6 + (cant recall the pence) - where can you get 2 course for that price these days ? so we were not expecting a lot.

1 x Soup - (not the Thick minestrone as described on menu) very thin, anemic, vegetable soup but packed with flavour and well seasoned. - so absolutely no complaints.

1 x Pate - the portion size could have fed at least two & served with chutney and warm toasted bread slices. Again no complaints, full of flavour.

2 x Carbonara - large portions and very, very good - al dente pasta and smooth carbonara with crispy ham and lots of parmesan. Neither of us managed to finish the bowl despite many attempts.

One Bottle of NZ Sav Blanc later and it made for an excellent break in the Christmas shopping chaos.

Service, warm and friendly.

Not fine dining but amazing value for money, would definately recommend.

Had a lovely meal, very friendly staff, service excellent, 3 courses with half ltr house wine ( very acceptable ) for under £35 what's not to like. The carbonara was amazing, and the tiramisu was lovely and presented beautifully . Recommend.

Returned to this resteraunt for a special occasion. The food is amazing. Freshly made to order and so tasty. My daughter whos diet is mainly pasta, said her Tortellini is the best ever. Surroundings maybe basic, but who cares when you are getting such fantastic food in a lovely friendly atmosphere at ridiculously cheap prices. Cant wait for another trip to Edinburgh.
