Owner description: Arthur's Seat is one of four hill forts, dating from around 2,000 years ago. Situated within Holyrood Park, as well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points. The park has several Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designations due to its exceptional range of grassland habitats and its internationally important volcanic geology. Ranger service on site.

Fabulous walk up this hill although a little wet and muddy in places but unsurprisingly as it was snowing earlier today. We both tried out our new walking boots - virgin walk and thanks to Tiso - they were great Happy feet with insoles... So pleased we decided to do this walk despite being 4.30 as it was gloriously sunny and saw stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area with snowy Pentland hills. Not for the unfit.. It was also really busy so gave way to fell runners.

Arthur's Seat is a timeless classic park that sets Edinburgh apart from any city you've ever visited. Situated a short walk from the centre, you're instantly transported to a beautiful landscape. I am born and raised Edinburgher, and Arthur's Seat never ceases to amaze in all weather conditions.

I don’t regret going up. Great view of Edinburgh! It was really busy at the top top top. Interesting steps going up at some parts. I’d recommend doing it.

Beautiful views can be found at the top of this hill, be warned though that it is a long way up and you should be in relatively okay condition before challenging it. Definitely worth it for the views.

I’ve come to Arthur seat since I was younger on dog walks and family days out in Edinburgh. The view is brilliant on clear days and on windy it’s fun to be blown over.

There’s the main paths which are very easy to climb up then also more twisty up the side ones where you need to climb up some rocks and crevices.

The crags are great too though of course don’t go too near the edge.

There is lots of grass surrounding the extinct volcano so it’s very suitable for picnics and playing games on too.
