Owner description: Arthur's Seat is one of four hill forts, dating from around 2,000 years ago. Situated within Holyrood Park, as well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points. The park has several Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designations due to its exceptional range of grassland habitats and its internationally important volcanic geology. Ranger service on site.

“best view!”
Reviewed 2 May 2012

I love going up Arthur's Seat, the walk itself is not too much if you take it easy. The views are magnificent on a clear day and best of all this activity is free! I would reccommend taking some sandwiches up and a flask of tea and finding somewhere to sit and soak up the views.

Nice place for a wander about and for the more energetic a climb up the hill to see great view of the city.

“Great views if you get a break in the weather”
Reviewed 1 May 2012

If you like to walk/hike this is a great way to spend a couple of hours. There are numerous different pathways up to the top of Arthur's Seat, or you can choose to wander other paths around Holyrood Park, and there are fantastic views over Edinburgh that make the steep bits very worth while.

“Nice Day Trip”

Definitely worth time and effort. If you like to take photo's this is a must do. Be prepared with layered clothes though. You can go from hot to cold quickly depending on the wind and clouds.
