Our family (2 parents, 2 teenagers) spent one night here and found it very good. We had probably our nicest room while in Scotland. It was tasteful, excellent beds, very clean, and excellent shower. We chose the Scottish breakfast, which was hearty. (We had much better haggis elsewhere, though.) The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
There are two caveats, though. Firstly, this is about 15 minutes drive from the sights. I strongly recommend simply getting a Uber to town, which only cost ca. 11 pounds and saves you the stress of driving in an unknown city and finding parking. Just do it. Secondly, this place is on a VERY busy street. Driving in to the entrance requires that you come from the direction of the city so you can turn left into the entrance without crossing traffic. Trying to turn right against traffic was not fun. Even though it's on a busy street, though, we didn't notice noise in the building while sleeping.
Finally, even though you're not in the city, there's a local pub within walking distance (15 minutes). We were the only tourists there.More
