All Edinburgh accommodation is expensive during August so why not stay in a nice hotel? It's hardly more expensive than a good B&B and we had only just enough time to spend our complimentary vouchers in the bar + drink the Famous Grouse miniatures + eat the shortbreads left for us in our room! The bed was lovely and comfy and the staff very helpful. We used the frequent bus services to get us in and out of the city, in the past we've tried the tram from the nearby Haymarket station too. More fun but more expensive.Unusually for Edinburgh this hotel has some car-parking at a reasonable £8 per 24hrs (or so!).Oh, and we have Floyd the duck to remind us of the stay.

Staying in Edinburgh during the festival, hotels in the city centre are vastly overpriced abd over booked. We decided to stay at Apex Haymarked as this was the more resonable priced hotel. It has a friendly and good staff. The room was a bit small, but we nanaged. The floor however was quite squeeky, and we woke sometimes by people passing by. The reason I'll probably choose anorher hotel, is the distance to the city centre. We took the tram daily, but would prefer to live closer. And not during the festival.

The location is great. Just 1 minute from Haymarket station, a gateway for Dundee and Glasgow. Also only 10 minutes walking distance from Foutain Bridge where you can enjoy a good film and good food. If you spare money visit the casino. Tynecastle the home of football club Hearts is also only 15 to 20 minutes on foot.

Well located hotel in haymarket very close to station and 10 mins walk from centre.

I was pleasantly surprised to see free biscuits and bottled water in the room. Rooms have essentials, iron, hair dryer, kettle and Elemis products.

Rooms clean, mine had no view. A little dated and the bathroom could do with a scrub on the shower tiles but otherwise ok.

Basic reception.

This was ideally situated and the view of Edinburgh Castle lit up at nighttime, was fantastic.
The hotel has a very modern and clean feel about it. There is another apex hotel within 2/3 mins away, whereby you can use the gym/pool facilities.
We ate in the restaurant on the first night and had great attentive service and it was reasonably priced, given the location. We also had breakfast there and a fab choice and good quality.
The bedrooms aren’t massive, compact, yet enough room and had complimentary water and toiletries.
Overall a great long weekend stay and would definitely go back and stay again.
