This is still an old fashioned bar with rooms, and a cracking breakfast.

The beer and company can be relied upon to lighten the darkest mood, and by stopping upstairs there is my h commend about it.

The food is OK, but the full breakfast is excellent, so, assuming you can get in, this is a great place to stop.

Recently renovated this is as close as you can get to a traditional inn with the bedrooms accessible from the bar on the ground floor (also has a separate access from the street). My room was on the small size though perfectly adequate with a modern ensuite with a decent shower(though the water could have been warmer). Comfortable bed though be wary of picking a room above the bar if you are not prepared to stay up until closing time (01.00 at weekends) as there is a bit of noise. Bit of confusion with checkout times as the sign in the room says 10.15 though the staff assured me that 11.00 or even later was acceptable. If you want to have lunch or dinner then you have to use the bar/restaurant which serves decent food though fairly limited. Again book before hand as the Fisherman's is popular and tables can be at a premium. Breakfast was of limited variety but tasty and plentiful. Enjoyed my stay and will stay again.

Room tip: Do not choose rooms above bar unless you intend to go to bed after closing.

Enjoyed a two night b&b stay. Great location. Very comfortable, clean quiet room. Staff very pleasant and and very full hearty Scottish breakfast set us up for each day. Would definitely recommend - nice friendly pub downstairs-don’t be put off by this.

Really good place to stay, the fiddlers on the Thursday night were excellent, bar prices good, only drawback is the parking. Do watch for the double yellow lines around the corner in Fisher Street. Plenty places to eat nearby although the food here is good.

Booked on line not really knowing where this place was. It is in Broughty's Ferry, a sort of suburb just outside Dundee. The place was actually easy to find. Check-in was interesting - you simply go to the bar and when one of the staff has a moment they will set you up. Parking is a bit of an issue as they do not have a designated parking lot - you have to park on the street. When we arrived there were no spots but the lady who checked us in said no problem - she came out and moved her car which was right by the entrance and let us take the spot. She parked in a no-parking zone. Guess she knows what she is doing.

We were on the top (2nd) floor. The room was small but had been re-done and was just perfect. Good beds, clean nice linens, good soft towels and an excellent bathroom. The windows opened so you can get fresh air.

The breakfast included in the rate was top notch. A full very tasty Scottish Breakfast. The price was not too bad (about 70 pounds.

The room was quiet, despite the fact that there is a very popular pub on the main floor. This place is well worth a stay. If ever in the area (e.g. to golf Carnoustie), this is where we'll stay.

Room tip: If you are a light sleeper, try and get a room that is not above the pub.
