“Luxurious fun!”

Mosspaul was perfect for running a long weekend with friends. The kitchen and bar area are brilliant for self catering and we had a keg installed which gave it a touch of class. Ensuite rooms were really lovely and our hosts made sure we were well looked after, even though we hardly saw them. Breathtaking views from the top of the hill and will be nice and toasty when the fire gets working!

“Brilliant idea, enjoyed by all!”

What a fantastic weekend a group of friends and I had at Mosspaul. In terms of value for money, all 22 of us that stayed agreed that Mosspaul was outstanding! Yes there may be more modern accommodation out there but in terms of what we paid, it was magnificent! The biggest selling point for us was getting to run our own bar.... A life long dream for some of the group! We honestly didn't want to go out as we had our very own 'pub atmosphere' without the final bell for last orders (or the expensive pub prices). Overall the accommodation was in good condition and very clean. Although it was quite a remote location, this suited us as there was plenty to do with its own pool table, table tennis, darts board and Wii... something for everyone really. The local bus stopped right outside to take us to Hawick so there was no issue with transport from that perspective. Rooms were clean and tidy and there was plenty of facilities such as bathrooms and showers to cope with us all. The kitchen was as you would expect for what used to hotel so we were able to cater for everyone very easily. There was also a lot of fridge space to keep things stored!

I don't think there was a negative comment amongst the group other than the arguments as to who got to play bar man for the night! The owners were very courteous and friendly and helpful throughout! They arranged for kegs of beer and cider for us which was very much appreciated by all! I am already looking for an excuse to go back and would recommend it to anyone. Although we were a group of guys, I would have said it would have also worked for an extended family break or even as a mixed group of guys and girls.

Overall a fantastic stay and worth every penny!!

“Welcoming owners, excellent facilities”

Mosspaul ticks all the right boxes for large parties. The rooms are comfortable and the bunk beds a big hit with the children. Having a catering kitchen was fabulous and made meal preparations a lot easier than a standard domestic kitchen. Entertainment facilities were great for young and old, many hours were spent at the pool table! Overall our break was relaxing and enjoyable. We found Alison and Eddie to be extremely helpful before, during and after our stay making us feel very welcome. We would certainly stay there again and recommend Mosspaul to others.
