“Amazing weekend break”
Reviewed 5 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We picked Forfar for our special family birthday celebration as it was ideally situated between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Anne genuinely wanted us to have a lovely stay in her wonderful cottage and was waiting there to greet us on our arrival to show us around. The welcome pack was extensive and included a lovelyTabouli salad and Forfar Bridies. The accommodation was spacious and the secluded well maintained garden area with BBQ a sun trap - we were lucky with the weather during our stay. We had our labrador with us and enjoyed a walk up the local hill and around Reid Park.

Dear Susan, It was a pleasure to meet you all indeed, and your beautifully behaved Lab. We are glad you were able to celebrate as a family, and appreciate the way you took care of Glenisla House during your stay. We had put in an order especially for good weather (giggle), and are pleased the sun shone for you. We look forward to meeting you all again. Kind regards Anne.

“Lovely overnight stay.”
Reviewed 22 August 2017 for a stay in June 2017

I stayed in overnight in June this year and had a wonderful stay. I was in the blue room and the bed was very comfortable, great sleep. I was greeted on arrival and made to feel very welcome. I would most definitely stay here again and am planning my next trip soon.

“Great stay again, thanks!”

Stayed here 2 years ago for a big family reunion in Forfar, came back this month for another one! We are a party of 10, that is, 8 adults and 2 children plus one large dog! We all love this house and so do our extended family in the town. We made full use of the garden and barbeque, especially on the Sunday afternoon when there were 32 of us having a get-together - all well behaved Anne! My grown-up daughters always make use of the piano, which Anne has encouraged us to do, so we have a sing-song every day, some of us love the book collection, all of us love the games room in the basement, including our extended family, the older ones of whom are able to tell us more about the property and the family who lived there years ago. We all love the fact that it is a 200 year old property full of charm and character, warts and all, and that is its appeal.
We have always found the property to be clean, tidy and well prepared for us, with a very well equipped kitchen. We look forward to coming back in the future.

It is always a pleasure to be able to welcome previous guests 'Home' again, and are particularly pleased that your extended family in Forfar chose to share Glenisla House again for a family reunion. 32!!! Well you must have been well behaved or I would have been told. :). Sing songs are a good thing, and are glad you enjoyed doing so. I have passed on your comments to our Wee Team. They do work hard. We look forward to having you all stay again. Kind regards Anne.
