Again, made most welcome by Alan and Thelma for our holiday in Cruden Bay at Pine Tree Cottage. The accommodation is both warm and comfortable and centrally located in the village - very handy for getting to all the shops and other amenities, which include the nearby local hotel, only a short walk away, so no need to take the car if venturing out for a meal or drink. We look forward to returning to the Bay again next year and staying at Pine Tree Cottage.
Comfortable, very clean compact homely property in the heart of the village, very handy for the local amenities - shops, post office, hotels, garage/filling station; outdoor activities - golf, tennis, bowls, sea fishing and a magnificent sandy beach and other places where you can stretch your legs or relax beside the sea; only a short drive into Peterhead or slightly further to Aberdeen.
Alan and Thelma made us most welcome and ensured that we had everything we required for our holiday in Cruden Bay. We look forward to returning to Pine Tree Cottage again next year.
Alan met us outside in case we drove past- from the start I could tell that we would be well looked after.
Cruden Bay is 40 minutes outside of central Aberdeen, but quiet and relaxed in comparison.
The property itself was very clean and fitted the description well. The lodge is well laid out and kept warm and comfortable.
Cruden Bay is a typical North East Scottish (once a fishing) village. There are a number of interesting attractions. We particularly liked the cliff top walks and ruined Slains castle. We saw seals and loads of sea birds. It is possible to see dolphins at the right time.
There are decent village shops for the basics and even a gift shop that has both Scottish presents and handmade jewellery, pictures and knickknacks.
It is obvious that Alan and Thelma take great pride in providing a relaxing and clean place to stay. I would definitely recommend this holiday rental.
