I had never heard of Duff House until directed there by the manager of the Tufted Duck Hotel.
Built in 1735 by William Adam, it's an attractive building set in a park in Macduff. Restored from a near-ruin, it has beautiful ceilings and chandeliers and is full of appropriate paintings and furniture for the 18th century. I thoroughly ebnjoyed my visit and would go back. The restaurant had good coffee and excellent, freshly made scones.
I'm glad I went.
